535 migrants deported from Libya in one week
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Libya announced the deportation of 535 illegal migrants to their countries of origin this week under the Voluntary Humanitarian Return program, with support from the European Union.
The migrants included 180 nationals from Chad, 174 from Bangladesh, 102 from Guinea, and 79 from Gambia, according to the IOM’s Libya office.
The IOM said the program seeks to facilitate migrants’ safe return to their home countries while providing the necessary assistance throughout the return process.
