The Brazil’s national football team arrived in the United States this Tuesday after departing from Rio de Janeiro to begin their official training camp ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The journey began on June 2, when the squad took off from the Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, marking the official start of their international journey. Prior to takeoff, the aircraft received a traditional aeronautical send-off, consisting of a water arch formed by fire trucks on the runway. This traditional water tribute is historically believed to bring good fortune and safety to travelers embarking on highly significant journeys, a sentiment deeply appreciated by the players and staff as they departed their home country.

To transport the delegation across the Atlantic, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) chartered a state-of-the-art Boeing 767-300 VIP aircraft. Valued at 200 million dollars, this premium airplane features 96 fully reclining seats designed specifically to ensure optimal physical recovery and comfort for the elite athletes during their 10-hour flight. The CBF prioritized the players’ physical well-being, knowing that proper rest during international transit is critical for peak athletic performance. Images of the players relaxing inside the luxurious cabin quickly spread across digital platforms, significantly boosting the enthusiasm and support of millions of football fans worldwide who are eager to see their team perform on the global stage.

Text reads: “Brazil receives the traditional baptism before its trip to World Cup 2026: Brazil’s national team officially began its journey to the North American World Cup 2026 with the traditional aeronautical baptism of the aircraft it brought to the team. As part of this ceremony, the plane was sprayed with plenty of water both during its departure from South American territory and upon arrival in the United States, a practice that symbolizes good wishes and success for the flight. The event marked the beginning of the concentration of the “Canarinha” in view of the next World Cup, in which it will seek to conquer the sixth title and expand the status as the tournament’s top winner.”

Upon landing at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, the South American squad was surprised to receive an identical reception. Newark fire department trucks lined up on the tarmac to create another majestic water arch, completing a rare double aeronautical baptism. This unexpected gesture of welcome in U.S. territory was welcomed by the team as a positive omen for their upcoming campaign.

The five-time world champion squad arrives in North America carrying strong momentum after defeating Panama with an impressive score of 6-2 in their first friendly preparation match.

Head coach Carlo Ancelotti and his technical staff will now lead the final training sessions at their official camp base in New Jersey. These training sessions will allow Ancelotti to adjust tactical formations, assess player physical fitness, and refine strategic details before their tournament opener.

The Brazilian team is scheduled to make its official debut on June 13, against the national team of Morocco, a highly anticipated match that will test the squad’s preparations under the prestigious Italian coach.
