The draw will determine 32 teams that will play 64 matches between June and July 2027.

FIFA will hold the draw for the final phase of the 2027 Women’s World Cup on December 11 at the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro (MAM Rio), a venue chosen to honor Brazil’s tradition of artistic football.

The draw will determine the 32 teams that will play 64 matches between June 24 and July 25, 2027, in the tournament’s first edition hosted in South America.

The choice of MAM Rio, which was founded in 1948, links football with Brazilian artistic creativity. FIFA’s Football Director Jill Ellis stated that “every pass becomes a brushstroke; every goal, a work of art.”

The World Cup’s visual identity incorporates illustrations by Brazilian artists for each of the eight host cities: Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and São Paulo.

More than a thousand guests will attend the draw, including representatives from the qualified teams, officials, and media. The schedule already shows that Brazil will play the opening match on June 24 at the Maracana, where the final will also be held on July 25.

The host nation will complete its group stage matches in São Paulo and Brasilia. The 2027 edition will be the second with 32 teams and is expected to be the largest ever: more than 800,000 people have registered interest in tickets, and 95,000 volunteers have signed up.

FIFA explained that the final schedule, with matches assigned to each venue and kick-off times, will be updated after the draw in December.
