2026 African Beach Volleyball Championship: Algeria Beats Angola and Reaches the Final

The Algerian men’s beach volleyball national team qualified for the final of the ongoing African Championship in Alexandria, Egypt, after defeating its Angolan counterpart (2-0) this Saturday.

The Algerian duo, Kallouche and Dekkiche, delivered a strong performance, winning the first set (21-19) before confirming their superiority over their opponent by taking the second set (21-19), thereby securing a well-deserved place in the final.

In the promising and competitive final match, the Algerian team aims to capture a direct qualification spot for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

It is worth noting that the Algerian duo has had an impressive run since the start of the continental tournament, finishing the first round at the top of Group F with three victories against Nigeria (2-0: 21-14, 21-14), Togo (2-0: 21-11, 21-18), and Angola (2-1: 14-21, 21-16, 17-15), before reaching the quarterfinals at the expense of Benin (2-1) and then the semifinals at the expense of Mozambique (2-1).

Twenty-eight countries are participating in both the men’s and women’s competitions, where this continental event holds great importance as the champion qualifies directly to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Algerian participation in this continental event represents an opportunity for national beach volleyball to compete at a high level amidst teams possessing continental and Olympic experience, as well as others aspiring to secure their first-ever Olympic qualification.
