Reigning Tanzanian champions Young Africans remain perfect through six rounds of the NBC Premier League following a 1-0 result over Geita Gold at the KMC Complex on Tuesday.

Oumar Comara’s first goal for the club early in the second half was enough for the champions, who created their own adversity with forward Stephane Aziz Ki’s red card inside the opening twenty minutes.

Aziz Ki was sent off in the 18th minute after a Video Assistant Referee review, leaving Yanga to play the remaining 72 minutes with 10 men, according to The Citizen Tanzania.

Yanga Maintain Perfect Start

Comara leaped up to head in Maxi Nzengeli’s corner kick in the 55th minute to deliver all three points, extending their winning streak to six matches and taking their tally to 18.

The victory kept Yanga at the top of the table, with Geita Gold lacking the creativity to create much danger despite their numerical advantage.

Yanga have now beaten Geita Gold seven times in meetings between the two sides, with Clement Mzize making his first appearance since last season after recovering from knee surgery.

Simba Chase Yanga in SA Coach Battle

Yanga will now prepare for the latest edition of the Kariakoo Derby on Saturday, where they will face Simba SC for the top spot on the league table.

The derby will see South African coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Steve Barker go head-to-head, with both sides having made perfect starts to the campaign

Simba have also won all six of their opening league matches, setting up a tantalising clash between the two Tanzanian giants.
