The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has been called upon to take punitive measures against the Mandate Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development, Abdullahi Ango, for allegedly kicking against the appointment of Comrade Solomon Adodo as a board member of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC).
The Empowerment for Unemployed Youths Initiative (EUYI), behind the call, alleged that Ango, working in cahoots with members of opposition parties on Thursday last week, was among those who staged a protest against President Tinubu and Adodo at the National Assembly.
EUYI National Coordinator, Comrade Danesi Momoh Prince, noted that they find it reprehensible for Ango, who is an appointee of President Tinubu, to join opposition forces to work against the appointment of Ododo into the NCDC board.
EUYI claimed some of the statements issued during this protest denigrate the person and wisdom of President Tinubu, while others are clear threats of riots, insurrection, and communal opposition against Mr. President by this group, who claim Indigenous status.
EUYI consequently called on Wike to sack Ango on the basis that he cannot be working against President Tinubu if he truly understands his position in government.
“This betrayal of trust is antithetical to the spirit of the Renewed Hope Agenda and unbecoming of an appointee of Mr. President. He has no business working for a man he is acting against,” they noted.
“Though he thought his activities were careful and clandestine, they are now exposed. While looking forward to your prompt, decisive action, please accept the assurances of our greatest esteem.”
