West African Resources hits 27m of gold in Burkina Faso

  • West African Resources discovered gold mineralisation 200m below its existing underground reserve.

West African Resources (ASX:WAF) has intersected 27m of gold grading 6.7 grammes per tonne in Burkina Faso.

This new mineralisation was discovered 200m underneath the existing M5 South underground reserve.

Individual core samples within the zone returned gold grades as high as 52.69 grammes per tonne.

Other high-grade sample sections included values of 16.02 grammes per tonne and 12.38 grammes per tonne.

Following the announcement, the West African Resources share price was unchanged at $1.40.

The gold producer focuses primarily on developing its flagship Sanbrado and Kiaka mining projects.

The company continuously conducts exploration drilling to expand its total gold inventory in West Africa.
