Volleyball: Nigeria Name 14-Man Squad For African Men’s Nations Championship

Nigeria have named their 14-man squad for the 2026 African Men’s Volleyball Nations Championship, with head coach Ryan Masajedi including two new players in the team for the continental tournament in Tunisia.

The championship is scheduled to take place in Tunis from September 13 to 27 and will also serve as an important qualification pathway for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Masajedi has selected two setters, two opposite players, two liberos, four outside hitters and four middle blockers for Nigeria’s campaign.

Bruno Ibeh and Adeniyi Favour are the two setters, while Armstrong Udoka and Okonkwo Ebuka will provide options in the opposite position.

Captain Abdulquadri Jaiyeola leads the outside hitters alongside Ogunshina Obayemi, Emmanuel Udah and Faruk Lucky.

The middle blockers are Anele Timothy, Pascal Ozokoye, Kaseem Mutiu and Army Ferdinand.

Abednego Hassan and Tiamiyu Ismail have been selected as the two liberos.

Masajedi will be assisted by Taiwo Oladipupo, who has been appointed first assistant coach, while Jonah Adamu will serve as second assistant.

Nigeria will be aiming to make a strong impression in Tunis as the team battles some of Africa’s leading volleyball nations for continental honours and valuable points on the road to the 2028 Olympic Games.
