URC Top Gun: Sacha finishes second

Stormers star Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu is the runner-up in the vote for SA’s URC Player of the Season, according to SARugbymag.co.za readers.

With the official award winner to be announced on Thursday, 5 June, an SA Rugby magazine poll asked readers who they believe deserves to be crowned South Africa’s top URC performer in the 2024-25 season.

Vodacom Bulls prop Wilco Louw was the winner with more than 28% of the vote. One of the game’s most destructive scrummagers, Louw started in 15 of 16 URC appearances for the Bulls this season, powering a dominant set piece as the Herd stampeded to second place on the overall standings and booked a home quarter-final against Edinburgh.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who has been in sensational form for the Stormers since his return from injury, including a breathtaking hat-trick against Connacht in round 15, received just under 23% of votes while Bulls bruiser Cameron Hanekom trailed in third spot with 17% of the vote.
