Uganda halts new mineral licences pending sector review – NTV Uganda

Uganda’s Energy Minister has temporarily halted the issuance of new mineral exploration, refining and dealing licences while the government reviews the sector.

Monica Musenero said the ministry currently oversees more than 500 licences, including five large-scale processing permits.
