‘To School’ initiative delivers aid to students across Egypt

Egypt has completed the fourth phase of the “To School” initiative for the 2026/2027 academic year, distributing school supplies to students in Cairo and South Sinai as part of a nationwide campaign to support families and students in need.

The initiative was carried out by the Interior Ministry’s Amaan system, the Future of Egypt Agency for Sustainable Development (Mostakbal Misr), and the Egyptian House of Zakat and Charity under the supervision of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, in co-operation with the Education Ministry and Al-Azhar institutes.

It aimed to distribute one million school bags, stationery, jackets and shoes to needy students across all 27 governorates.

The campaign also provided 150,000 food vouchers to families in need. Mostakbal Misr enabled beneficiaries to purchase essential food commodities at discounted prices through its “Super Tawfeer” outlets across the governorates.

Mobile vehicles accompanied convoys organised by the Egyptian House of Zakat and Charity to remote villages and areas, helping families access the support without having to travel to redeem the vouchers.

The Interior Ministry’s Amaan system also provided basic food commodities at discounted prices to eligible families through its outlets nationwide.

The first phase was launched in Fayoum and North Sinai, reaching students in villages, hamlets and Bedouin communities.

The second phase expanded support to needy students in Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Beheira, Alexandria, Sharqia, Gharbia and Qalyubia.

The third phase reached students in 16 governorates, including Minya, Matrouh, the Red Sea, New Valley, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor and Aswan.
