The Japanese women’s under-18 youth handball team showed overwhelming performance and won the first match of the World Championship with a great victory.

Japan defeated Angola 39-19 in the first Group G qualifying match of the 11th IHF Women’s World Youth (U-18) Handball Championship held at Traian Sports Hall in Rmnikublcea, Romania on the 29th (local time).

With this victory, Japan led Slovakia in goal difference and took the lead in Group G, and preoccupied the advantage of advancing to the main round. Angola, on the other hand, started the tournament at the bottom of the group.

Japan got off to a perfect start at the start of the game. They scored four goals in a row to take a 4-0 lead, and Angola was in pursuit late with Elisa Caneculo scoring her first goal.

However, Japan did not miss the opponent’s frequent mistakes. Japan, which widened the gap with its strong pressure defense and fast attack, ran to 12-3 in the middle of the first half and took the lead early.

Angola later fought back, stabilizing the flow of the game somewhat, but Japan did not falter. Japan, which finished the first half with 19-9 and 10 goals, effectively decided the game.

Japan’s dominance continued in the second half. He dominated the opponent in both attack and defense and did not miss the lead throughout the game, ultimately winning 39-19, a whopping 20 goals.
