A joint operation led by Gauteng law enforcement has resulted in the arrest of a suspect allegedly involved in the manufacturing and possession of fraudulent documents in Essellen Park, Tembisa.
Fake Documents and Cards Seized
According to Gauteng Department of Community Safety, the operation involved the Gauteng Traffic Police High Priority Crimes Unit, Gauteng Traffic Police Specialized Law Enforcement Unit (SLEU), SAPS Intelligence, Metro Police (M.D.O CI CIT), EMPD CLU Northern Region, and Gauteng Traffic Wardens SLEU (East and Central).
Officers acted on intelligence and targeted a property where suspects were producing fake documents.
Upon arrival, officers conducted a detailed search of the premises.
They uncovered a significant cache of fraudulent items, including various green barcoded South African identity documents(ID), foreign national identity documents, multiple South African driver’s licences, a variety of bank cards, and SASSA social grant cards.
Suspect Fails to Explain Possession
The individual found at the address was unable to provide an explanation for the origin of the documents.
Law enforcement officials immediately placed the suspect under arrest for possession of suspected stolen goods.
The suspect will appear in court soon. Further investigations are under way.

Authorities have warned that the production of fraudulent documents fuels a range of criminal activities. They have urged the public to report any suspicious operations.
