June is, without a doubt, one of the busiest months for gamers we’ve seen in a long, long time. Not only is Nintendo stepping back into the arena with the highly anticipated Switch 2 this week, the feat is set to be followed by Geoff Keighley’s love letter to Kojima videogames with the annual Summer Games Fest on Friday, 6 June.
On top of that, Microsoft has some games it’d like to tell you about in the form of the Xbox Games Showcase, kicking off on Sunday, 8 June, at which Team Cherry will finally break its long silence and confirm that Hollow Knight: Silksong is cancelled. ‘Bout time. Then there’s a bunch of other, smaller shows — like Day of the Devs.
A Wintry Summer Games Fest
But it’s Geoff Keighley’s lovechild that we’re more interested in than anything else. E3 may be dead and buried, but its spirit lives on in the Summer Games Fest. Kinda. It’s the closest thing we’ve got, okay? Aside from the tonnes of smaller shows across the entire weekend, it’s the show on Friday, 6 June, that’ll interest you most.
It’s going to be a relatively late show for any Saffas hoping to catch a glimpse of the slew of games announced at this year’s Summer Games Fest. Live from YouTube Theatre, this year’s affair promises to be roughly two hours long and kicks off at 23h00 on the night of Friday, 6 June, where it’ll run over into the following Saturday.
You’ll be able to stream the event live from anywhere (with a decent internet connection, of course) from YouTube and Twitch, with simulcasts on X, TikTok, and Steam. We’ve also embedded the YouTube live stream below to make finding it as simple as possible while you blearily tap your phone at 22h59 on Friday evening.

If you’re still deciding whether the show will be worth waiting up for, a list of all the confirmed partners appearing at this year’s Summer Games Fest might help you make that decision. To be clear — this isn’t the entire list of developers and publishers who will show their faces at the show. Geoff likely still has a couple hidden under his shoe so as not to ruin the surprise early. What those might be, however, remains to be seen.
We do know of at least one game gracing our eyeballs at the weekend. It wouldn’t be a proper Keighley event without some sort of love shown to Hideo Kojima, and the Summer Games Fest has provided. On Monday, 9 June at 01h00 (that’s in the morning, folks), we’ll get a dedicated peek at Death Stranding 2 and hopefully whatever other strange game Kojima has rattling about his noggin.
