A total of 57 participants took part, including TVET institution leaders and administrators, policymakers from the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education, and representatives from industry and employers’ associations — many of whom had completed a pre-course delivered online by UNESCO-UNEVOC.
The four-day workshop combined presentations, group discussions, and hands-on exercises to ensure learning translated into actionable results.
Participants explored:
- Strategic planning in TVET, including key concepts and common institutional challenges
- Step-by-step guidance on developing effective strategic plans
- The concept and importance of trace studies in assessing graduate employment outcomes
- International case studies showcasing successful implementation of trace studies
- Practical methodologies and tools for designing and conducting trace studies
Working in small groups, participants developed draft strategic plans and created preliminary outlines for trace studies relevant to their respective institutions.
By the end of the workshop, participants had:
- Gained a clearer understanding of how to apply strategic planning processes within their institutions
- Collaboratively developed first draft strategic plans
- Outlined practical processes for conducting institutional trace studies
- Established professional networks to support ongoing collaboration and peer learning
