Somalia receives credentials of four newly appointed ambassadors

Mogadishu (HOL) — Somali Foreign Minister Abdisalam Ali received copies of the credentials of four newly appointed ambassadors to Somalia on Tuesday, formally beginning their diplomatic assignments in the country.

The ambassadors are Dr. Madou Diallo of Mali, Danlami Ibrahim of Nigeria, Aqsa Nawaz of Pakistan and Aung Min Oo of Myanmar.

The presentation of their credentials followed approval of their appointments by the Federal Government of Somalia and marks the start of their diplomatic missions in Mogadishu.

Minister Abdisalam welcomed the new ambassadors and reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation with their respective countries.

The meetings are expected to provide an opportunity to deepen diplomatic, political and economic ties between Somalia and the four countries, according a statement from the Ministry.
