This landmark week represents a conscious decision to leave political, social, and regional differences behind. Instead, it anchors itself on a shared love for the homeland and a collective responsibility to build a prosperous future.

A Powerful Four-Day Agenda: From Civic Pride to Real Estate Wealth

The week is strategically curated to blend active civic engagement with structured economic mobilization:

  • Thursday, June 18: London Civic Day – Hosted by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MOICE), led by Minister Chernor Bah, this day focuses on deepening active citizenship, national cohesion, and dialogue between the government and diaspora communities. Vice President Juldeh Jalloh is the guest of honor.
  • Friday, June 19 – Saturday, June 20: 4th Annual Sierra Leone Diaspora Investment Conference (SLDIC) – Co-hosted by the Office of the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, and featuring a keynote address by TAF Africa Global CEO Mr. Mustapha Njie. This segment pivots engagement “From Remittances to Structured Diaspora Investment”.
  • Sunday, June 21: TAF Africa Global West African Real Estate Expo 2026 – Running right on the sidelines of the main conference at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, this expo is a premier opportunity for anyone looking to purchase property, unlock financing, or explore TAF’s massive real estate offerings across Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Liberia, and The Gambia.

A Message to the Skeptics: “We Are the Investors We’ve Been Waiting For”

Organizers are sending a direct, heartfelt message to diaspora members who are traditionally skeptical of government-aligned events or frustrated with political systems. This initiative is deliberately designed around the unifying understanding that we cannot leave the government behind if we want sustainable, structural progress.

Vickie Remoe, Founder and Chair of the Sierra Leone Diaspora Investment Conference, released a stirring call to action aimed directly at finding common ground:

“Look, no one is going to come from anywhere to fix the problems for us—whether they are political, economic, or social. It starts with us. We have to find common ground, and the most important common ground that is above all of us is that, no matter your affiliation, no matter where you are, we all want Sierra Leone to be a better place.

What other way is there for us to get there than working together to mobilize diaspora capital and structure diaspora investment so that we can protect it? We must engage and come together to find solutions so we can actually get to fixing and building. We are the investors we’ve been waiting for. No one is going to do this for us.”

Hon. Chernor Bah, Minister of Information and Civic Education said they’re coming to listen:

The Sierra Leonean diaspora is not just a source of remittances; you are a strategic national asset, a powerhouse of ideas, and an essential partner in our governance and development. As part of our mandate to deepen active citizenship and structured public engagement, the Ministry of Information and Civic Education is bringing the International Civic Day Series to London with completely open ears.

We are not coming to lecture; we are coming to listen, to learn, and to build lasting institutional links. We want to look you in the eye and deeply understand the unique challenges you face so that we can co-create and develop robust, pro-diaspora policies that actually work for you.

My message to every Sierra Leonean in the UK is simple: all are welcome. Whether you are proud of the progress we are making, or you are deeply frustrated and feel the government needs to do a much better job—this space is for you. We need your critique just as much as we need your capital. No matter our political differences, Sierra Leone is bigger than all of us, and we cannot build a better nation if we leave our diaspora behind. Come out, make your voice heard, and let’s shape our country’s future together.”
