There’s still another year to go before the world’s best international teams go head to head, but for the next month, FIFA is bringing us the next best thing: the FIFA Club World Cup. 32 teams — one of which is South Africa’s own Mamelodi Sundowns — will take each other on to compete for the title of best club in the world. And Showmax will bring all 63 matches to its mobile-only Premier League tier, free of charge.
Showmaxing pitches in for the Club World Cup
Kicking off this Sunday, 15 June at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, USA, where Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami will do battle against Al Ahly, another representative of the African continent. Seeing as it’s at 02h00, you may want to turn your attention to the FC Bayern München v Auckland City FC match-up at 18h00 that evening. The Sundowns will make their debut on Wednesday, 18 June against Ulsan HD at midnight.
You’ll want to keep your eye on Bayern Munich, PSG, Manchester City, and Real Madrid, all of which are favourites to take home the big prize when everything is said and done. Tune in to see who will take all the glory (and bragging rights until the next tournament) on Sunday, 13 July.
