Shettima to Represent Tinubu at 69th ECOWAS Summit in Sierra Leone

Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Freetown, Sierra Leone.

The summit will bring together West African leaders to deliberate on regional priorities, including peace, democracy, economic growth and regional integration.

Leaders are also expected to consider key policy decisions and strategic resolutions aimed at strengthening cooperation across the sub-region.

The meeting forms part of ECOWAS’ statutory mid-year engagements, which focus on security, democratic governance, trade, infrastructure and sustainable development.

Shettima is expected to return to Abuja after the conclusion of the summit.
