Scotland recall Junior Bok

Scotland have called up a trio of players for Saturday’s Six Nations clash against Wales while Luke Crosbie and Jack Mann have been ruled out by injury.

Monument old boy Nathan McBeth, who represented the Junior Boks in 2018, has been drafted into Scotland’s Six Nations squad along with Matt Currie and Ben Muncaster.

The 26-year-old Glasgow prop, who was contracted to the Lions between 2019 and 2021, made his Test bow last year and will be eager to earn a third cap for his adopted country.

Currie has been recalled after scoring a hat-trick for Edinburgh against Munster on Friday, having recovered from concussion.

He will be joined by clubmate Muncaster, who also started the win in Cork.

Crosbie was replaced early in the Edinburgh game and is back at his club to undergo further assessment, while Mann suffered a head injury in Glasgow’s match against Ospreys on Saturday and is undergoing World Rugby’s concussion protocols.

Scotland suffered defeats to Ireland and England following their opening-weekend win against Italy, while Wales are bottom of the table after losing all three of their Six Nations matches so far.
