Schools wrap: Affies break Jeppe hearts

Affies denied Jeppe a famous victory on Saturday, while Paarl Gim remain unbeaten.

Trailing 35-33 with less than two minutes to go, flyhalf Nehemia Hollenbach slotted a 40m drop goal for Jeppe to spark wild celebrations on and off the field. But the hosts failed to control the restart and were penalised for offsides, with flyhalf Ruben Groenewald’s penalty snatching a 38-36 win for Affies.

In other notable results, Grey College crushed Selborne 103-14 in Bloemfontein, Westville beat Glenwood 42-25 in a KwaZulu-Natal clash and unbeaten Paarl Gim cruised past Oakdale 29-9.
