An exciting weekend of schoolboy rugby action saw Grey College remain unbeaten this season, while Pretoria rivals Menlopark and Waterkloof played to a thrilling draw.
Grey Bloem beat Outeniqua 29-18 away from home, while in KwaZulu-Natal, Maritzburg College edged Glenwood, while Westville Boys High got the better of Northwood.
In the Western Cape, Affies held Paarl Gim to a thrilling16-all draw, while Oakdale Landbou were just too good for Paarl Boys High, winning an exciting match 28-26.
Joburg’s two big English boys schools both suffered defeats at the weekend, with Jeppe going down at home to Monument (70-24), while KES were beaten 27-24 by Pretoria Boys High.
Several schools’ first teams will be in action in Easter rugby festivals across the country this weekend.
In Joburg there are three traditional festivals taking place at KES, St John’s and St Stithians, with matches scheduled for Thursday, Saturday and Monday.
Kearsney in KZN will also host a festival this weekend.
