Over the past ten months, SABC Plus has averaged over 100,000 new user registrations per month. The SABC, in a statement released on Thursday, attributed this surge in sign-ups primarily to its live sports broadcasts, which have consistently attracted more than 60,000 new users for each major sporting event. However, the broadcaster did not disclose the number of these newly registered users who remain active on the platform after their initial sign-up.
The SABC also highlighted the success of its recent “#SwitchToStream” campaign in further accelerating the platform’s growth. This campaign focused on educating audiences about the convenience and accessibility of SABC Plus across a wide range of devices.
