S. Sudan MP Michael Ayuen recognized at African Achievers Awards in London

South Sudanese Member of Parliament Michael Ayuen Johnson Chuti has been recognized among distinguished African leaders and changemakers at the 16th edition of the African Achievers Awards held in London, United Kingdom.

Hon. Chuti was among prominent personalities from across Africa honoured for their contributions to leadership, governance, innovation and social development during the prestigious awards ceremony.

The event brought together global leaders, diplomats, policymakers, innovators and business executives to celebrate African excellence and promote international collaboration.

The awards programme included a high-level Leadership, Trade and Investment Roundtable held at the House of Lords, hosted by Baroness Verma, Member of the House of Lords and Chancellor of Roehampton University.

The discussions focused on economic cooperation, sustainable development and strategic investment opportunities across Africa and the diaspora.

The programme later concluded with an Awards Gala Dinner hosted by Lord Simon Woolley, Life Peer and Lord Temporal in the House of Lords and Principal of Homerton College, University of Cambridge, alongside Dr. Yvonne Thompson CBE, Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London.

Other honourees included Rt. Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth; Vanessa Kingori, former Managing Director of Technology, Media and Telecommunications at Google; Aisha Maina, Managing Director of Aquarian Consult; Sarah Fafa Kpodo, Chief State Attorney at Ghana’s Office of the Attorney-General and Ministry of Justice; Elsie Appau-Klu of the Ghana Revenue Authority; and Jane Frances Acilo of Uganda.

Speaking on the significance of the awards, Dr. Tonye Rex Idaminabo said the African Achievers Awards continues to provide a global platform for recognizing African excellence, service, courage and leadership.

He said the initiative aims to strengthen partnerships across borders while promoting sustainable development and celebrating individuals driving positive change across Africa and the diaspora.

The recognition of Hon. Michael Ayuen Johnson Chuti places South Sudan among African countries represented at the international platform celebrating leadership and community impact.
