Russia executed an unprecedented aerial assault on Ukraine overnight, launching 479 drones in what Kyiv’s air force labeled the largest drone attack since the conflict began.
This extensive strike affected multiple regions and represents a significant escalation in Moscow’s ongoing invasion, which persists despite increasing international demands for a ceasefire.
Ukraine’s air force reported that air strikes occurred in ten different locations, resulting in some damage, although there were no immediate reports of deaths or serious injuries.
Oleksandr Tretyak, the mayor of Rivne, said that -“this! was the most significant attack the region has experienced since the war escalated. “
Despite the scale of the assault, Kyiv claimed a high interception success rate, with 460 drones and 19 out of 20 missiles shot down.
This surge in Russian attacks indicate that Moscow is not interested in genuine peace talks and is instead ramping up its military efforts.
In response, Ukraine conducted a drone strike on a Russian electronics factory suspected of producing components for Iranian-designed Shahed drones, which are often used in assaults on Ukrainian cities, leading to a temporary halt in operations at the facility.
