Russia and expanding areas of cooperation with Congo

Moscow – Russian President Vladimir Putin received the President of the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Kremlin today. This meeting reflects Moscow’s efforts to strengthen its presence on the African continent. Moreover, Moscow seeks to expand political and economic cooperation with African nations.

For his part, the Congolese president expressed his appreciation for Russia’s role in supporting his country. He also affirmed Kinshasa’s desire to strengthen cooperation in the areas of investment and technology transfer. He explained that he hopes to benefit from Russian expertise in vital sectors such as energy and mining.

This visit comes within the framework of intensive Russian efforts to deepen its relations with African countries. Moscow seeks to expand its economic and political influence on the continent.
