Rangers host Nasarawa in Owerri in NPFL Matchday Four schedule

Rangers International will continue their Nigeria Premier Football League campaign with a rescheduled fixture against Nasarawa United at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri tomorrow, September 17.

The game will kick off at 4pm and represents Rangers’ outstanding league engagement following changes to their domestic schedule caused by their participation in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.

The Flying Antelopes recently progressed in the continental competition after eliminating Benin Republic champions AS SOBEMAP on penalties following a tightly contested preliminary-round tie.

Rangers will temporarily face the Solid Miners in their home fixture in Owerri because renovation and modernisation work is ongoing at their traditional home, the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The work forms part of Enugu State’s preparations for the 2026 National Sports Festival, with the state government upgrading the stadium and other sporting facilities ahead of the Games later in the year. Contractors have said the work is expected to be completed before the festival.

The Nasarawa United encounter will therefore provide Rangers with another opportunity to make the Dan Anyiam Stadium a productive temporary home before attention shifts to Matchday Four.

Meanwhile, the NPFL has rearranged Matchday Four fixtures according to the fixtures schedules released the league organisers, three games will be played on Saturday, September 19, while the remaining seven are scheduled for Sunday, September 20. All the matches are billed to kick off at 4pm.

The schedule means Rangers will play twice at the Dan Anyiam Stadium within four days, first against Nasarawa United on Thursday before returning to the same ground to face Owerri side Kun Khalifat on Sunday.

For Kun Khalifat, the Rangers encounter provides a major home test against the reigning NPFL champions, while the weekend will also feature potentially interesting contests in Kano, Aba and Lagos.
