OUAGADOUGOU (CONVERSEER) – Burkina Faso’s President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has expressed satisfaction following his official visit to Bobo-Dioulasso from 21 to 24 May 2025, highlighting major investments aimed at boosting national development and self-sufficiency.

In a statement released at the conclusion of the four-day mission, on Saturday, President Traoré detailed the delivery of agro-pastoral equipment and inputs valued at more than 104 billion FCFA, designed to empower local producers and strengthen food security across the country.

“These actions are for the benefit of our valiant populations,” Traoré said, describing the initiatives as crucial steps towards “achieving food self-sufficiency.”

The President also presided over the laying of foundation stones for two major industrial projects: a cashew-apple processing plant and a veterinary medicine manufacturing unit.

According to him, these projects reflect the government’s commitment to steering Burkina Faso toward “true industrialisation.”

While activities unfolded in Bobo-Dioulasso, President Traoré noted that significant progress was also recorded in Ouagadougou, where the Brigade of Volunteers for the Defence of the Fatherland (VDP) received logistical equipment valued at over 6 billion FCFA.

“All these investments and acquisitions are the fruit of your civic commitment, through your contributions to the Patriotic Support Fund and the payment of various taxes and duties,” Traoré stated, addressing citizens directly.
