President Samia sends condolences on the passing of Pope Francis.

President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr .Samia Suluhu Hassan, has expressed her condolences following the death of Pope Francis, who passed away at the age of 88.

In an official statement, President Samia conveyed her deep sorrow over the loss of the global leader of the Catholic Church, describing him as a beacon of hope, unity, and peace.

“During his 12 years of spiritual leadership, Pope Francis demonstrated faith, wisdom, and dedication in promoting peace, solidarity, and human welfare around the world,” stated President Samia.

Additionally, she extended her sympathies to all Catholic believers both in Tanzania and globally, emphasizing that the world has lost a voice of justice and hope for millions.

“On behalf of the Government and the people of the United Republic of Tanzania, I send heartfelt condolences to all Catholic faithful. It is a great sadness to lose a leader who was a source of hope for many,” she added.

President Samia concluded by praying for Pope Francis to rest in peace: “May God place his soul in a blessed resting place. Amen.”
