Preparing for the Federation Cup Final Against RS Berkane in Zanzibar

Simba SC has confirmed their readiness for the second leg of the final against RS Berkane, despite their loss in the first leg held in Morocco.

On May 17, 2025, the first leg concluded with a score of 2-0 in favor of RS Berkane, where  two  goals achieved  from Mamadou Camara in the 8th minute and Ousama Lamlioui in the 15th minute. 

The decisive second leg is scheduled for May 25, 2025, at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.

With RS Berkane having one foot in the title race, Simba SC’s defender Shomari Kapombe, who played a crucial role in the first match, expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure a positive result at home. 

To clinch the CAF Confederation Cup, Simba must win by at least three goals while ensuring their defense remains impenetrable.

Simba has achieved numerous remarkable feats, leaving the past behind. This season, we have matched every opponent who has defeated us. Berkane has completed their turn; now it’s our time to shine. Our focus is not on history but on the quality we possess. 

We acknowledge that Benjamin Mkapa is our stronghold, yet our victories stem from our excellence, not just the venue. Amaan Stadium led us to the finals, and it will be the stage for our championship triumph. We have not forgotten the debt to the late President Mwinyi, and now we aim to settle it in front of his son, President Dr. Hussein Mwinyi. We are determined to repay this debt.

We are aware that some individuals are scheming to prevent us from claiming the championship, but we will not let them succeed unnoticed. Here, we have shed our civilized facades and embraced a primal determination. We will not place blame on one another; instead, we will fiercely protect our ambitions.

The late President Dr. Magufuli foretold that we would be the first to bring home the “African championship” let us go forth and fulfill that dream.

“We are here in Zanzibar for one purpose only: to claim the championship, not just to play matches. When we talk about taking the title, we mean fighting through every challenge to achieve it. First, let me reassure you that the battle is ongoing. The few you see here are just a small part of our team. Everyone has come from their respective places to Unguja with the same goal: to ensure Simba wins the championship. The external fight has already begun, and we are truly in a strong position.” he said .

“This struggle is not just for one person; while the leaders are tackling one aspect, you have the power to address another. We all bring our strengths to the table. The respect we aim to earn on Sunday is not for an individual; it will be for all of us to celebrate together. We are seeking collective honor, and that requires our cooperation. My brothers and sisters, we want this championship, and with God’s will, it will remain with ‘ Simba Sports Club’  We do not want to repeat the history of 1993; we will hold on to this title.” he added .
