Portugal vs. DR Congo: Houston World Cup ticket prices

The get-in price to see Portugal and DR Congo face off in a 2026 FIFA World Cup match in Houston was $1,288 as of Tuesday morning, according to ticketdata.com.

That actually marks a decrease in price from what it was just a few hours before, when the cheapest ticket at 8:07 a.m. was $1,434.

Prices have increased 47% for the match over the past seven days.

The average price of a ticket to a Portugal group stage match is more than $2,000. Only the group stage matches for Brazil and Mexico cost more.

Portugal’s match with Colombia on June 27 in Miami is the fourth-most expensive ticket of the entire tournament at $3,202. Only the final, the semifinal in Atlanta and the Mexico vs. South Korea match this week are more expensive.

Portugal is among the World Cup favorites. Cristiano Ronaldo is the headliner, but the 41-year-old legend isn’t the player he used to be.

Now the team runs through its superstar midfield that features Vitinha, João Neves and Bruno Fernandes.

This is DR Congo’s first World Cup match in 52 years. The country’s first and only previous World Cup appearance came in 1974 as Zaire. Zaire won zero games during the tournament, and DR Congo hopes to provide a first point for the country.

Wednesday’s match is the second of seven World Cup games taking place in Houston. Germany defeated Curaçao in the first matchup.

Portugal will play its second World Cup match next Tuesday against Uzbekistan.
