OFFICIAL: Trezeguet Joins Al Riyadh on Two-Year Deal

Saudi Pro League side Al Riyadh have officially signed Mahmoud Trezeguet on a two-year contract following his departure from Al Ahly.

The club unveiled Trezeguet in a video on Tuesday under the caption. Al Riyadh did not disclose the length or financial terms in their announcement.

However, club president Bandar Al-Muqail previously confirmed that the Egypt international had agreed a two-season contract.

The 31-year-old joins as a free agent after Al Ahly terminated his contract by mutual agreement last month. At the time, the Cairo giants said the departure followed amicable discussions and an undisclosed financial settlement with the player.

Trezeguet had signed his contract earlier in August, but Al Riyadh could not immediately announce or register their new players.

Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah reported that the club received the Saudi Pro League’s approval to complete the signing after obtaining its financial-competence certificate.

Al Riyadh collected the certificate last week after satisfying the league’s financial requirements. The approval made them eligible to register new first-team players.

Al-Muqail had originally said that Trezeguet would be presented on August 2, but the administrative process delayed the announcement by more than a week.

Trezeguet’s departure ends his second spell with his boyhood club after only one campaign. Al Ahly had agreed his return from Trabzonspor in January 2025.

He scored 18 goals across all competitions during the 2025/26 season, including 11 in the Egyptian Premier League.

The winger previously represented Anderlecht and Mouscron in Belgium, Kasımpaşa, İstanbul Başakşehir and Trabzonspor in Turkey, and Aston Villa in England.

He also spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Qatar’s Al Rayyan, making Al Riyadh his second Gulf club.
