The All Progressives Congress (APC) Northern East chapter has commended the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for purposeful leadership in handling the country’s economy and security.
The APC National Vice Chairman North East, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, while extending the felicitations of members of the party to President Tinubu and Nigerians, on the two years of governance by the present administration, said that Tinubu has put the nation on the path of economic growth and development.
Salihu, in a statement, hailed Tinubu’s strides in economic stabilisation, national security, and institutional reforms, stating that the last two years under the Renewed Hope Agenda have restored direction and confidence in Nigeria’s governance architecture.
“The President came into office at a time of enormous challenges, but he has displayed rare courage and an unwavering commitment to difficult but necessary reforms,” Salihu said.
“From removing the fuel subsidy to sanitising the forex regime, President Tinubu has proven that he is not just a politician but a statesman with a long-term vision for national prosperity.”
The APC chieftain noted that beyond macroeconomic stability, the administration has made significant progress in rebuilding Nigeria’s critical sectors, including security, agriculture, infrastructure, and digital innovation.
Besides, while saluting the resilience of Nigerians during the ongoing transformation process, Salihu also commended the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, for anchoring a more coordinated, intelligence-driven national security strategy that has resulted in greater stability across volatile regions.
“Mallam Nuhu Ribadu’s patriotic role in ensuring internal peace and political stability has been pivotal to the success of this administration. His leadership continues to reflect the depth of experience, character, and institutional memory required at such a critical time in our history,” Salihu added.
The APC stalwart, who has been instrumental in peacebuilding efforts in the North East, particularly in his home state of Adamawa, highlighted the recent success of the intra-party reconciliation committee as one of the dividends of responsible political leadership and strategic coordination.
“It is this spirit of unity and strategic foresight that is exemplified by President Tinubu and supported by figures like Mallam Ribadu that has given us the impetus to reconcile internal differences and reposition the APC for a decisive electoral outing in 2027,” he said.
He urged party loyalists, particularly in the North East, to draw inspiration from the President’s address marking his second anniversary in office and to see the gains made so far as the beginning of a greater era of development, accountability, and national inclusion.
Salihu also lauded the administration’s investment in human capital development, youth empowerment, and health sector revitalisation, describing them as “forward-looking policies that place people at the center of governance.”
“As the President rightly stated in his address, the worst is behind us. What lies ahead is the consolidation of gains, and it is our duty as party leaders to rally our people, deepen policy understanding, and sustain grassroots mobilisation across the country,” he added.
