Nigeria launches review of mobile termination rates

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has launched a review of mobile termination rates (MTR). According to the regulator, the current framework, set in 2018 and modified in 2022, is no longer in line with the current market conditions, such as high inflation and currency depreciation, rising data adoption and the entry of MVNOs. A meeting with stakeholders was organised 16 June to discuss the study underway by KPMG for the NCC.
