New ROG Flow Z13 Gaming Tablet Lands In South Africa

Asus Republic of Gamers has just announced its new ROG Flow Z13 for South Africa, for the deep-pocketed gamers who don’t want to sacrifice too much power for portability.

This 2-in-1 gaming tablet receives the latest and greatest mobile SoC from AMD and offers a 180Hz ‘2.5K’ touchscreen display, a large 70Wh battery, and enough ports for all your peripherals. And it comes with a Stylus for all the doodlers out there.

Take the ROG Flow Z13 with you everywhere

The AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 (yes, that’s its real name) is supposedly one of the most performant mobile SoCs available right now. We’ll hold off on making our judgment about just how great it is until we review it, but with 16 performance cores and a max boost clock speed of 5.1GHz, it should be plenty powerful for gaming on the go.

This being a tablet, you won’t need to lug an external display around with you. That is, if a 13.4in IPS display is big enough for you. This one has a crisp 2,560 x 1,600 resolution in a 16:10 aspect ratio and can do a snappy 180 refreshes per second. It also supports Dolby Vision HDR content and a ‘Pantone Validated’ sticker, for what it’s worth.

The new AMD SoC, together with a sizeable 70Wh battery should mean you can spend more time away from a power socket, without having to sacrifice too much in the way of performance.

Lastly, if you want to turn this into your gaming or creative workstation, it sports a plethora of I/O ports for flexibility. Those include two USB-C ports (both of which support USB4, DisplayPort 1.4, and power delivery), a single USB-A port, an HDMI 2.1 port, a microSD card reader, and an audio combo jack.

If you’re itching to get your fingers around a ROG Flow Z13, you can do so right now. You’ll just need to make sure you’ve got the required R43,000 in unmarked, non-sequential, small denomination notes available. An EFT would probably work too.
