New Acer Swift Is Lite In Your Bag And On Your Pockets

Acer Africa has unveiled its Acer Swift Lite, a mid-range laptop that balances power and portability. The new hardware packs an Intel Core chip and WUXGA screen into a 1.35kg frame that makes the device easy to handle, ideal for people who need a computer that can move around as easily as they do.

Acer packs Lite

In a laptop landscape dominated by a litany of low-budget bottom-feeders and inflated gaming giants, Acer looks to give the mid-range its groove back with the Swift Lite. The laptop boasts a 13th Gen Intel Core processor, coming in both i3 and i5 flavours, with Intel Graphics. The stock 8GB of RAM and 512GB SSD storage are a tad underwhelming for the price point, though. Each model packs a WUGXA display, 14in and 16in respectively, with IPS (In-Plane Switching) and a 170°  viewing angle, as well as a full HD webcam on its Swift Lite 14. A ten-hour battery capacity brings it all together.

One of the Swift Lite’s biggest appeals to customers is its size, managing to confine its features to a lightweight 1.35kg and 17mm thickness. With this portability, Acer says the device is ideal for students, mobile professionals, digital nomads, and value-seeking consumers.

At R11,000 for the i3 version and R13,000 for the i5, we’d mostly agree. The laptop sports a decent amount of power and screen quality at its price, so long as a potential buyer isn’t looking to maximise power over everything else. The device is available at the company’s website and at Incredible Connection, Computer Mania, and HiFi Corp stores all over the country.
