Nabi took the brave decision of starting key midfielder Thabo Cele and defender Inacio Miguel on the bench against the Buccaneers.

The decision left a number of fans fuming, due to the gravity of the fixture!

And now, the Kaizer Chiefs coach has since explained the reasons behind his weird decision.

“For Thabo Cele, he is coming from an injury, and he hasn’t fully trained, and he’s been injured. That’s why he wasn’t fully fit. He’s not 100 per cent to start the game or to play the 90 minutes,” Nabi told reporters following the match.

“About Inacio, it is the same thing. He’s coming from an injury and he wasn’t really fully fit to give a 100 per cent performance.”

Nabi’s side have the perfect chance to restore some pride at the club. Kaizer Chiefs will face Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final next week.
