The dialogue explored how young people can drive innovation, develop solutions to national challenges and contribute to South Sudan’s sustainable development.
MTN South Sudan CEO Mapula Bodibe has reaffirmed the telecom operator’s commitment to expanding digital connectivity and opportunities for young people across South Sudan.
Bodibe made the remarks during the Youth Dialogue and Engagement Event, held as part of the International Youth Day 2026 extension at the University of Juba. The event was convened by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and brought together government representatives, youth leaders and other stakeholders.
The dialogue explored how young people can drive innovation, develop solutions to national challenges and contribute to South Sudan’s sustainable development.
Bodibe highlighted MTN South Sudan’s network reach, noting that the operator currently provides population coverage of approximately 85%. She identified expanding connectivity across the country as one of her priorities.
She also highlighted MTN’s investment in ICT Hubs, which are intended to give young people and communities greater access to digital tools, skills and opportunities.
According to Bodibe, MTN South Sudan currently operates ICT Hubs in eight states and aims to establish a hub in every state across the country.
The initiative forms part of MTN South Sudan’s broader efforts to use digital connectivity and technology to bridge the digital divide while creating opportunities for young people to learn, innovate and develop solutions that support national development.
