Morphy leads NEC delegation in strategic assessment of key project sites in Cross River – Converseer

CALABAR – The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Projects/Programs Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Raphael Morphy, weekend, led a delegation of the Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) of the National Economic Council (NEC), Abuja, who conducted an on-the-spot assessment of major project sites in Cross River State. Their mission was to identify areas with significant development potential.

Cross River State boasts a wealth of natural resources with substantial deposits of limestone, gypsum, titanium, tin ore, ceramic hardstone, barite, salt and other raw materials. Leveraging these numerous comparative advantages across the state is central to Governor Bassey Otu’s vision of establishing Cross River as a competitive force nationally.

Alhaji Mohammed Kabiru, leader of the NEC delegation, assured that his team would work diligently to ensure the Council considers initiatives that will benefit the state.

He lauded Governor Otu’s administration for its focused governance and the impressive infrastructural developments witnessed firsthand, particularly the recently launched Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (Agro-industrial Hub) at Adiabo-Tinapa, a project flagged off by Vice President Kashim Shettima.

The high-powered delegation included Dr Bong Duke, Chairman of the State Planning Commission; Hon. Pius Ankpo, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure; Hon. (Dr) Michael Odere, Commissioner for Finance; Permanent Secretaries, Directors and other government representatives.
