Morocco to host 2030 World Cup final at Hassan II Stadium says Lekjaa

Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), has announced that Morocco will host the final of the 2030 World Cup, which it is co-organizing with Spain and Portugal. During a political gathering on Thursday in Bouznika, ahead of the September 23 legislative elections, Lekjaa, who is also a member of the Authenticity and Modernity Party’s (PAM) political bureau, confirmed that the tournament’s decisive match will be held at the Grand Stade Hassan II in Benslimane.

Aside from his role as vice-minister responsible for the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa addressed the speculation circulating in the Spanish sports media. Spanish football officials have repeatedly asserted that Spain would host the final. However, the FRMF president, a recent addition to PAM, remained both confident and composed. «What you need to know is that the province of Benslimane will have the honor of hosting the 2030 World Cup final», he stated, expressing hope that Morocco’s national team would be vying for the title in this monumental match.

While Morocco, Spain, and Portugal are confirmed as co-hosts for the World Cup, FIFA has yet to officially announce the venue for the coveted final. Nevertheless, the Hassan II Stadium, slated for completion in 2027, boasts several advantages.

With a seating capacity of 115,000, the stadium is set to rank among the world’s largest football arenas. The project encompasses a sprawling 100-hectare complex that includes an athletics hall, a multi-purpose sports arena, swimming pools, and leisure spaces.
