🏛️Haiti TPS continues: Temporary protected status for Haitians will stay in place at least through Monday, a court ruled. Our Jessica Orozco takes us in-depth on this story.

What was written: The judges wrote that the administration did not meet the legal standard to stay that lower court order, “particularly given that the case will be returned to this court on July 27, 2026.”

After TPS: Once TPS ends, those without another status will be at risk of being detained and put into removal proceedings in immigration court. Each individual’s case has unique circumstances and everyone has legal rights to present their case.
☘️Celtic Festival arrives: The Dayton Celtic Festival will celebrate 25 years of showcasing the historical and cultural heritage of the Irish people this weekend at RiverScape MetroPark in downtown Dayton. I was able to see crews setting up for it myself yesterday.

The event: The free festival will offer a variety of entertainment from local, regional and international acts, an array of food vendors, a Celtic marketplace featuring more than 40 vendors, music workshops, a parade of kilts and more.

Entertainment: The entertainment lineup will be headlined by Gaelic Storm, The Elders, Socks in the Frying Pan, The Drowsy Lads, Davy Holt and Bastard Bearded Irishmen.
👟New facility: London Bishop tells us that Bellbrook High School will soon be getting a new privately funded athletic training facility, replacing its old training room for the first time in three decades.

Size: The new facility is 8,000 square feet, half of which is turf for agility and speed training, while the other half houses weights and racks.
🗞️MORE LOCAL NEWS
• 🚔While Flock cameras have been the source of some controversy for their potential to be used in immigration enforcement and other surveillance concerns, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said without the technology, recent shooting suspects would not have been caught as quickly.
• 🏗️Springboro City Schools’ $115 million districtwide construction projects are running on schedule, and residents should expect to see groundbreaking soon on a new multi-purpose athletic complex near the high school.
• 🏫River’s Edge Montessori, a Dayton Public Schools elementary, will take additional work to open on time due to mold found in the building, according to district Superintendent David Lawrence.

• ⚖️A Dayton man was sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to seriously injuring a young child.
• 👨⚖️A man accused of driving a semitractor-trailer without a valid license during a head-on crash in April 2025 that killed a Franklin man is headed to prison.

• 🪖The U.S. House voted yesterday to curb President Donald Trump’s military attacks against Iran, approving a “War Powers” resolution. U.S. Rep. Warren Davidson, R-Troy, was one of four Republicans to again break with the White House.
• 💥As the Associated Press reports, a series of explosions broke out near a military base hosting U.S. forces in northern Iraq, hours after the U.S. military said it had wrapped up its 13th night of strikes against Iran.
