Mofokeng Shines In Union Victory

Relebohile Mofokeng continues to make an impression Belgium, with the attacker finding the back of the net in Royale Union Saint-Gilloise’s latest outing.

Union Make It Six Without Conceding

After beating Anderlecht 3-0 last week, Union have now defeated Sint-Truiden by the same scoreline, making it back-to-back 3-0 victories.

The Brussels side took the lead in the 22nd minute through Patris, before Mac Allister and Mofokeng sealed the victory after the break.

The win also means Union are yet to concede a goal in their opening three league fixtures.

Patris Opens the Scoring

Union had to make up their third league fixture due to their European qualifying campaign, and Sint-Truiden made the brighter start at Stayen.

The hosts broke through the Union defence twice early on, but goalkeeper Koffi read the situations well to keep the scoreline level.

The visitors gradually grew into the game and took the lead in the 22nd minute when Biondic played a perfectly weighted pass through to Patris, who made no mistake with his left foot.

Mac Allister Doubles the Lead

Union were too strong for Sint-Truiden in the second half. Ten minutes after the restart, captain Mac Allister bundled the ball into the net from a free-kick.

The assistant referee initially flagged for offside, but VAR overturned the decision to double the visitors’ advantage.

Relebohile Mofokeng Seals the Win

On the hour mark, the Brussels side put the game beyond doubt. After a fine combination between Zorgane, Biondic and Mofokeng, the young South African slotted an effort into the bottom-right corner to make it 3-0.

The 21-year-old, who scored on his league debut against Westerlo last month, now has two goals in three appearances for his new club.

Next Sunday, Union will take on unbeaten league leaders Charleroi.
