Libya reaffirms support for Niger’s stability, warns of regional security risks

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation reaffirmed the Government of National Unity’s support for Niger and its people, stressing the importance of preserving the country’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity amid recent developments.

In a statement issued Monday, the ministry expressed concern over the developments in Niger and their potential repercussions for the country’s security and stability, as well as for peace and security across the Sahel and neighboring countries.

The ministry emphasized that Niger’s stability is a cornerstone of regional security, calling for the national interest to take precedence, state institutions and national resources to be protected, and conditions to be created that would allow development to continue and improve citizens’ living conditions.
