Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in Baghdad on Sunday during an official visit to Iraq. Al-Baour is leading a Libyan delegation participating in the Libyan-Iraqi Joint Committee meetings, held on August 23 and 24 after a nearly 25-year hiatus.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation across various fields, in addition to regional and international issues of mutual interest exchanging views on the developments and discussing ways to enhance coordination.
The meeting concluded with a joint press conference, where the two sides reviewed the latest developments in Libyan-Iraqi relations and ways to expand bilateral cooperation, stressing the importance of strengthening coordination on regional and international issues to serve common interests and support security and stability in the region.
