Lamia Tazi gains over $16 million in 18 days

As CEO and Chairwoman of Sothema, Tazi holds an 8.19-percent stake in the company, representing 589,658 shares. Over the past 18 days, the company’s stock on the Casablanca Bourse has climbed sharply, increasing the value of her holdings by MAD138.57 million ($14.93 million).

This builds on an earlier gain of $8 million between Jan. 1 and Mar. 4, when the value of her stake rose from MAD545.43 million ($54.9 million) to MAD625.04 million ($62.91 million). The rise in Sothema’s shares points to growing investor confidence, not just in the company’s future, but in Tazi’s leadership.

Sothema stock soars, market cap nears $1 billion

Sothema, Morocco’s healthcare company, produces about 60 million pharmaceutical units each year and partners with 35 multinational laboratories. Its products are distributed across Europe, the Maghreb, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Persian Gulf, reflecting its key role in the region’s healthcare supply chain.

Over the past 18 days, Sothema’s stock has surged by 23.62 percent on the Casablanca Bourse, driving its market capitalization close to $970 million. The share price climbed from MAD995 ($107.17) on April 7 to MAD1,230 ($132.486) at the time of reporting, delivering robust returns for investors. 

This rally has boosted the market value of Lamia Tazi’s 8.19 percent stake in the company. Her holdings increased by MAD138.57 million ($14.93 million), rising from MAD586.71 million ($63.2 million) on April 7 to MAD725.28 million ($78.12 million), solidifying her spot among the Casablanca Bourse’s leading investors.

Sothema’s stock up 29.95 YTD

Morocco’s pharmaceutical company has cemented its place among the top-performing and most valuable stocks on the Casablanca bourse, with its share price climbing nearly 30 percent since the start of the year.

The strong rally highlights growing investor trust and the company’s increasing presence in key international markets, underscoring its importance in North Africa’s healthcare industry.
