Kaizer Chiefs to offer player plus cash to secure top transfer target?

Kaizer Chiefs are set to continue their rebuilding project under coach Nasreddine Nabi in the next transfer window.

Nabi has lamented he won’t return the Chiefs glory days over night, asking for trust in the process.

Chiefs had first phase of squad overhaul

The first part of that process was laid as a foundation over the two transfer window’s afforded to him this season. Chiefs backed Nabi with 10 signings, but also cleared some high profile deadwood before his arrival. The likes of Keagan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti, Itumeleng Khune, Siyethemba Sithebe and Njabulo Ngcobo were axed. The Tunisian then signed seven new players in his first window. Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, Fiacre Ntwari, Gaston Sirino, Bradley Cross, Inacio Miguel and Njabulo Blom.

After that group failed to really push the Chiefs squad to new heights, Nabi was allowed to add three more. In the January transfer window, it was clear that experience was going to be the order of the day. The club went on to sign Tashreeq Morris, Thabo Cele and Glody Lilepo. Now in the next window, the club will, again look at strengthening other areas of their squad. It is believed the right-back position is one of them.

Interested in Mabuya

During the January transfer window, Chiefs were rumoured to be interested Lwandile Mabuya of Richards Bay FC. Their club chairman Jomo Biyela also went on to admit there was interest from Amakhosi. Now according to Soccer-Laduma, The Glamour Boys could offer a player plus cash to secure his signature.

“From what we understand, there could be a player exchange between the two clubs (for Mabuya), mainly Mduduzi Mdantsane. Yes, Sabelo Radebe could also stay but that could be decided when everything is settled and agreed upon. Now they have to consider the offer Chiefs have tabled Rest then the rest (can happen) including a player exchange could follow,” said the source.
