Kaizer Chiefs’ SIX-MAN transfer wish list revealed

Kaizer Chiefs will need to go again in the next transfer window to build a credible challenge for silverware. Should they target these six stars?

Six-man Kaizer Chiefs short list

Djigui Diarra

According to SoccerLaduma, Chiefs are keen on recruiting Malian goalkeeper Djigui Diarra. The 30-year-old has 65 caps for his country and worked with coach Nasreddine Nabi at Young Africans where the player has been since 2021. The club are reportedly underwhelmed with new signing Fiacre Ntwari, while Brucs Bvuna isn’t seen as a long-term option between the sticks.

Neo Maema

According to local reports, Chiefs are keen on signing the experienced playmaker Neo Maema from Sundowns. The 29-year-old Bloemfontein-born star has been on the fringes at Sundowns this season, only making five league appearances. Maema moved to Sundowns from Royal AM in July 2021.

Tshepang Moremi

According to SoccerLaduma, Kaizer Chiefs will make a formal offer for Tshepang Moremi, who’s also on the radar of Orlando Pirates and Sundowns. The 24-year-old Bafana man has chipped in with two goals and an impressive six assists in 20 league matches this term. Is he the creative spark Chiefs need?

Thabang Matuludi

Kaizer Chiefs were in pole position to sign 25-year-old Thabang Matuludi in the winter. The Polokwane man has shown a sense of adventure from the right-back position this season, scoring twice and assisting once in the opening 12 games of the new Betway Premiership season. His buccaneering ways make him a target for the country’s top sides. Orlando Pirates are also reportedly interested.

Oswin Appollis

According to SoccerLaduma, Polokwane City dug their heels in over star winger Oswin Appollis with club chairman Johnny Mogaladi preferring to sell the 23-year-old Bafana man to overseas suitors if at all. Injuries to key duo Tlou Nkwe and Thabang Matuludi strengthened his resolve to keep the player. Polokwane is currently third in the Betway Premiership and chasing an unlikely continental finishing place, viewing themselves as legitimate contenders to finish above Kaizer Chiefs. Why sell to a direct rival?

Fiston Mayele

Former Amakhosi defender Mokete Tsotetsi has added him name to the list of pundits, players and fans who are desperate for Chiefs to sign prolific Congolese marksman Fiston Mayele. Via Goal:

“We have good strikers that’s not a doubt but we need a striker like Mayele who can win us those tough games where we create chances but we can’t convert,” he told SNL24.

“He has proved it wherever he has played. He did well in Tanzania for Yanga and now he is doing well for Pyramids in Egypt. We need a striker like him. It would be very good if the club could sign him in January.

“The coach and the assistant coach know him very well and that could bring in that understanding between the coach and the player which would in turn help the team,” Tsotetsi continued.

“So I think that’s why also the coach has been wanting to sign him and even I believe that if we can sign Mayele we can win more games than we have done so far.”

Who would you add to the list?
