After a season of ups and downs, there was another big disappointment for Kaizer Chiefs this past weekend as the Glamour Boys fell to a 2-1 defeat against Golden Arrows.
Nasreddine Nabi is coming under increasing pressure, but the coach is hoping that he can retain enough support to continue building a squad and revising plans for next season.
With this in mind, it has been reported by SABC Sport that defender Reeve Frosler has agreed a new deal in principle to remain at Naturena.
His contract is entering its final stages, but he has said that he is still very happy at the club, and now its just the finer details of the concluded deal that need to be wrapped up.
An announcement is expected soon, with Frosler set to stay with Chiefs at least beyond June 2025.
Kaizer Chiefs hoping to retain the faith
Nabi has insisted he just needs more time as he faces increasing calls to be axed after his first season.
“I think the conclusion is we need to score – if you want to win, you need to score. If you control the game – we looked at the statistics after the game, it was all for Kaizer Chiefs.
“And it was not the first game [where that’s the case], majority of the games are like that. I think the solution is 100 percent clear, maybe the time for us [to change] some things is not now.
“But my message [to the fans] is patience. We don’t have any solution now, but stay patient and continue to support the team, but I trust the fans of Kaizer Chiefs, they love the team too much.
“I want patience, give me patience. I’m very sorry, honestly, I’m very sorry for the result. I am the first man with big frustration.”
DO YOU THINK NABI SHOULD STAY OR GO?
