Kaizer Chiefs have been monitoring Tanzanian international Feisal Salum since Nasreddine Nabi’s arrival last offseason.
The pair spent two successful years together at Young Africans, winning several trophies, including a league title in each season. Both departed before the 2023/24 campaign, Salum headed to rivals Azam FC, whilst Nabi moved to AS FAR Rabat before settling at AmaKhosi.
The Tanzanian giants are reluctant to let the dynamic midfielder go, initially dismissing Kaizer Chiefs’ bid in January, but, according to Rwandan journalist Eric Ndagijimana, they’re now open to offers.
Salum contract debacle
A few weeks ago it was reported that Salum had rejected Azam FC’s contract extension, further boosting Kaizer Chiefs odds of landing the talented playmaker, who can assist as well he can score, finishing second in the Tanzanian Premier League’s golden boot standings.
“Feisal Salum has made his decision and informed the club that he will not extend his contract,” Africafoot.com reported.
“He is enjoying his experience at Azam, a big club, but he wants to explore new opportunities at the end of the season,
“A move to Kaizer Chiefs? It is still too early to say for sure, but it is a very serious possibility.”
