Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, says he is turning over a new leaf in his personal life, pledging fidelity and a renewed focus on family.
In an interview on The Breakfast Club podcast on Tuesday, the multi-award-winning artist candidly addressed his past relationships, admitting that past mistakes have shaped his current perspective.
“I’m not cheating again. I don’t want wahala,” Davido said. “I have five kids with four women. I’d rather go and live how my other guys are living. Maybe because I’ve had bad experiences. Sometimes experience is the best teacher.”
The singer also referenced familial examples of polygamy, stating that his uncles continue to face long-standing relationship issues—scenarios he hopes to avoid.
Looking ahead, Davido confirmed that he and his longtime partner, Chioma Rowland, will hold their white wedding this August in Miami, United States. The couple, who previously had a traditional ceremony, welcomed a set of twins in 2023.
Davido also spoke emotionally about his late son, Ifeanyi, who passed away in 2022, drawing a touching connection to his newborn son.
“We’ve got twins now, a boy and a girl. The boy looks exactly like my son who passed. They act the same. Everything he used to do, he does,” he said.
